Does the fire still burn?
How long will the fire last if there is no wood left?
Why does the fire still want to burn?
To keep them safe, or secure?
How much longer will it last without the aid of the significant other?
Maybe its best to let the fire go out.
So a new fire can be started;
with someone else.
Then again, the fire momentairly still burns with just one person;
when will the other person realize what to do?
But by then, it will be too late.
It's time to let it die.

I like this one. I like the opening metaphor to an actual fire with no wood left to burn. It's very clear and easy to follow.
The last line, "it's time to let it die" is my favorite..
i agree...i love the last line :)
